Sailing Yacht Kaori
125' Palmer Johnson
Project: Extensive Refit
Style: Timeless traditional
"Kaori" is a 125' classic Sailing Yacht built by Palmer Johnson formerly known as "Mandalay". She was refitted in 2006 by Karen Lynn Interior Design and Robovich shipyard in Palm Beach, Florida. The refit was very extensive in which all of her rigging and equipment and exterior was completely redone or replaced and the refit went on for about 8 months.
Karen Lynn Interior Design worked on the interior with the Clients who were from the UK to select the interior and exterior materials for the project. All the woodwork throughout the yacht was refinished and restored back to her beautiful high gloss cherry finish. The fabrics chosen were classic navy and whites and some bits of yellow and beige as well. We rebuilt all the hard and soft stretched overheads in the boat to give a refreshed look to the interior and used a better fastening system so that the overhead would stay in place. We reupholstered and restyled all of the interior seating and exterior seating and new exterior cushions. We fabricate new custom decor to include window treatments, beautiful bedding and pillows to coordinate with the rooms decor. We covered all of the the headboards in a coordinating material. We also gave the pilot house a facelift and recovered this area in a classic navy leather. We finished off the sailing yacht with a nautical exterior in blue and white vinyl with nautical pillows.
Boat International Magazine featured "Kaori" in a 5 page spread shortly after the project was completed. Please see press room to view article.
