Project: Extensive Refit
Style: Modern Glamour
"Xilonen" was a 142' Christensen motor yacht which was previously known as "Namoh" when the Karen Lynn Interior Designs refitted her the first time in 2003. "Xilonen" underwent an extensive refit which took approximately 11 months at Powell Brothers in Ft Lauderdale. The owners of the yacht at the time loved the existing dark rich ebony high gloss woodwork and wanted to play off that look as much as possible in the final interior design.
Xilonens glamorous and fabulous interior resulted in a rich and luxurious interior design with a material selection including gorgeous silk walls, imported Italian and French textiles, hand painted silk textiles, an array of colored mother of pearl tiles and accents, gold and silver leaf, amazing onyx and exotic marbles, hints of tigers eye and stainless steel and crystal accents. There was truly no surface left untouched.
She was outfitted with furnishings from Italy and handtufted silk carpets. All of the rich Macassar Ebony woodwork was refinished in the yachts interior. We also redesigned and rebuilt all of the cabinetry in the sky lounge in Ebony to include a sleek new bar with glass and chrome details. In addition, we completely redesigned the lower deck twin cabin which was converted into a gym. All of the walls and miles of overhead in the entire boat were reupholstered opulent pearlescent pastels to coordinate with each of the cabins theme name selected by the owners. The ceiling panel plans and lighting placements and ac soffits were also redesigned. The entire pilot house was redone and resurfaced using marble and pearlescent upholstery.
We also reconfigured the spacious galley and altered the cabinetry to be more efficient including stove and hood area as well. All of the appliances were replaced with the latest and the most state of the art equipment, in addition to all surfaces being replaced or redone. All of the guest heads and the Master head were completely redone with new tubs and showers, new sinks and toilets, gorgeous new fixtures and accessories, marble flooring, paneled ceilings, elegant wall coverings and window treatments. Her crews quarters for 8 were also renovated and entirely redone including all the the crew heads. The owners did not spare any expense only using the highest quality materials even in the crew area. She was finished off using the finest artwork and accessories, linens, china, glassware, and silver to complete the exquisite beauty.
Karen Lynn Interior Design coordinated project managed all of the 28 different trades including electrical and plumbing as well provided CADD architectural drawings for layouts, electrical and cabinetry.
"Xilonen" was nominated for "Refit of the Year" in 2008 by Showboats Intl and was also featured in Boat Internationals Refit hard cover series book in 2007. Karen Lynn Interior Design worked on this yachts interior and did a partial interior refit in 2014 when she was purchased by new owners and renamed "Lady Bee".
