Motoryacht Reem
167' Trinity
Project:New Construction
Style:Sexy Sophistication

"REEM" is a 167ft Trinity yacht new construction project which was delivered in 2013. Karen Lynn Interior Design was selectively commissioned in 2009 by Trinity Yachts to design this sexy and unique yacht interior. We were given a blank slate on this project and created a unique one of kind custom interior for a very special Client.
The design process for REEM began which a contract general arrangement which was provided to us by Trinity. The yachts layout included 8 guest cabins and 8 guest heads in addition to the master and master head. The yacht interior featured a main salon and dining area, galley and bar area but did not include a sky lounge due to the amount of guest cabins requested by Client.
We began the interior design process by obtaining wood species samples and colored wood samples in grey analine dyed which is a highly specialized finish which we see a lot on private aircraft but had not worked with this material on a yacht before. We came up with our final selection for the millwork package which was birdseye maple used in combination with burl and two other woods to come up with a gorgeous rich high gloss rich wood finish.
We then prepared a full set of millwork drawings room by room and all electrical, reflective ceiling, furniture and finish plans. We prepared a room by room design spec for the yacht which included all materials, fabrics, finishes, lighting and materials. Karen Lynn's vision for the boat was a sophisticated sleek Ferrari like interior. We incorporated rich reds, blacks, and cobalts in combination with the grey wood and custom glass and polished chrome accents and railings.
The furniture was custom designed and built for this very special client. We incorporated various metallic and textured leathers into the woodwork and accent columns throughout. We made use of colorful glass tiles and polished chrome fixtures in all of the heads. The Master cabins design was inspired by blue cobalt ocean them with a handtufted custom carpet inspired by the sea, custom headboard inspired by the waves and handblown custom one of kind sconces inspired by sea creatures. The master bath included a custom colored mosaic tiled shower and sauna inspired by waves which was wrapped in glass and polished stainless.
Karen Lynn Interior Design was not permitted to photograph the final project due to the confidentiality the Client requested. The images featured here are 3D Renderings which are almost identical to the actual finished interior as it was delivered in 2013.
